Meet Our CAL Patrons And Pets!

This week, we want to introduce you to some of our friends at the Center For Active Living (the “CAL”). While I'm sure you're all familiar with our Pet Food Pantries by now, we thought it might be helpful to hear from real people and see real pets. These are patrons that visit our Pet Food Pantry, who wanted to share a few words of gratitude with you. After all, none of this would be possible without your support.

THANK YOU!!

When we asked how the CAL and our Pet Food Pantry has impacted them, our patrons had a lot to say! The positive feedback is what keeps us going, so it's only right that we share that with you all too. Together we really are making a difference in our community!

Please note that the people pictured are not the ones who gave the testimonies as they wished to remain anonymous.

“I am a widower and was a supporter of Helping Hands before I found myself in a tight financial situation. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, all rescues, and this organization has been so helpful to me. I’ve also reached out when I had things going on at the vet and Beth was awesome. A++”

“The pet food pantry helps us get through the month. Our cats would be without food if we didn’t come here.”

“I love all of the programs at the CAL and I especially love the pet food pantry! I think it’s a wonderful thing for seniors in the community. It helps me a lot because I’m on social security, so things like this, the Friday food shopping, and the cafeteria at the CAL are really helpful.”

“Thank you for all of your help during a troubled time. Your support is something that will not be forgotten. I pray that someday I can pay back all that you have done."

“I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, it helps tremendously with my budget. My husband and I have been on a fixed budget for over 10 years and when covid hit, our budget was thrown out the door. I didn’t think I’d be able to be involved with such a great program. Not only does it help me, but I try to help my mom who is 90. I get her cat food and kitty litter so she’s not carrying it. It helps a lot and it’s wonderful!”
